Project American Life is held on the grounds of YMCA Hargis Retreat in Chelsea, Alabama.  Hargis is a beautiful, camp-like facility situated on 200 wooded acres a half an hour southeast of Birmingham.  Students sleep in large lodges which have bunk-bed style accommodations. All lodges and facilities have central heat and air conditioning, indoor restrooms, and large meeting areas. The dining facility is well-equipped, offering a varied selection of wholesome food options at every meal.
