Project American Life is conducted as a field trip for middle school students with the majority of participants being from the sixth grade. The program is available to public and private schools as well as home school groups. There is a minimum requirement of 75 students per session. Smaller schools wishing to attend may partner with another school group in order to meet the required number of students. The cost of the program for the 2009-2010 school year is $220 per student and includes all meals, snacks, supplies, and a tee-shirt.
